Chake De India is, simply put, a very good movie.Shah Rukh has rid himself of the mannerisms; the dialogues are hard hitting yet simple and pithy;the issues addressed are topical and relevant… and let’s face it - we all like to be pleasantly surprised - how many of us really expect girls to team up and kick on an international scenario! The real stars are, without doubt, the girls. From Komal Chautala (screen name) to Preeti Sabharwal (screen name) to Bindiya Naik (screen name) to Vidya Sharma (screen name) - everyone has finely etched out characters that have been fleshed out deftly by Jaideep Sahni (Writer) and Shimit Amin (Director).
Shah Rukh is, at best, the torch bearer to this whirlwind force and his punch line never leaves your cognition - “Neeyat (intention) is enough to make a team”Besides sharing the elation of this motley crew of greenhorns upon winning the women’s World Championships, even the most strident critic is inexorably drawn to applaud the ‘male - bashing’ scene (no pun intended) at McDonald’s where the entire team realizes for the first time what it means to stand up for one another.Way to go Mr. Amin. Keep it coming.
I can assure you that the new, resurgent, intelligent India will lap up such movies with voraciousness!
